Trainer has been certified in the air brakes system. Any driver who operates this bus must receive training and be certified. Certifying all substitute drivers is underway already under the watchful eyes of Mr. Gore and Tim Beahm, Transportation Supervisor.
As part of the sales agreement, the bus company is sending someone out to train Mike Dove, Mechanic, and anyone else who might work on the bus on the proper maintenance of the air brakes system. The training is included in the price of the bus.
All this seems to add up to savings for the taxpayer and a safer more comfortable ride for the children. An additional bus driver did not need to be hired, the runs of the other drivers which had been extended to pick up children part way up the mountain were reduced back to normal runs, no drivers were eliminated, the county got some “free” training and everyone will have something to cheer for as “big yellow” makes its way up Chester Gap.
