The only requirement for the ceremony was that their faithful dog, Riley, had to be allowed to be the witness.
They managed to find The Conyers House in Sperryville. With Norman Cartwright-Brown as Justice of the Peace and “dogs allowed” all things were made possible.
Fortune would have it that the Cartwright-Browns’ son had a weekend house for rent, so the couple rented the place.
Gradually they began spending more and more time on the road commuting back to their business in Maryland.
Of course that got old and with the business growing and continuing to need more of their time, a better solution was on the horizon.
In 1997 with the help of local realtor Jean Lillard, the Solomons bought the beautiful Frances Bradford house on Route 522 in Flint Hill. Jay Monroe, a local architect living in Huntly, turned the house into a workable headquarters for Oasis CD.
Donalea Monteleone was the first of many Rappahannock employees and she is still happily on board.
The company is continuing to expand along with its reputation.
Currently Oasis CD employs seven full time graphics people who design cover jackets for the CDs.
