Hitt was a self ertlfJjoyed trucker, who hauled saAjdJist to area horse farms au^tnulch to many various su&iyisions throughout Rappahannock, Fauquier, L(Juflo\m, Culpeper and Prince Wflliatn counties. * was a member of the Anwseville Baptist Church. *3Se is survived by his wife, Gltffih B. Hitt; one daughter, Tanrara L. Terwilliger and her husband, Allen of Amissville; one son, Martin G. Hitt Jr. of Amissville; a grandson, Bobby Lee Higg of Amissville; two sisters, Mary H. Brown and Marion H. Woodward, both of Amissville; two brothers, Mason L. Hitt Jr. of Wart-enton and John F. Hitt Sr. -of Amissville and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and intermeht will be private.

Mabel W. McClanahan, 93, of Warrenton died Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Culpeper Health Care Center.
She was born April 27, 1909 in Sperryville, a daughter of the late Oakley Homer Bowen and Elizabeth Atkins Bowen.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, Thurman Woodward and Richard McClanahan; a son, James Edward Woodward; two brothers, Leo Bowen and Sam Bowen and three sisters, Edna Canard,
