Clinic will be open Aug. 21
The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open Wednesday, Aug. 21 and not again until Sept. 4. Patient registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Public Health Department Building. Bluemont series continues
The Bluemont 2002 summer series will continue on Saturday, Aug. 17 with the Orquesta La Romana Band at the old Warren Green in downtown historic Warrenton. Requested admission is $5 per person, $3 for Bluemont friends and seniors and $1 for children under six. In case of bad weather the event will be held at Taylor Middle School. Health programs available
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following health promotion/screening programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center:
On Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. Karen Gerndt of Culpeper Regional Hospital will present a program on skin cancer.
On Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. there will be a blood pressure and blood sugar screening by Melinda Beach, Public Health Nurse. On Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. a Medicare Part B program will be given by Daivon Bruce.

Demolition Derby set
Applications are now being accepted for the Demolition Derby to be held Saturday, Aug. 24 during the Page Fair in Luray and Rappahannock residents are encouraged to participate: Cars may include any American made stock, hardtop automobile or station wagon. Official entry blanks are available by calling 743-4949. The fair runs from Aug. 18 through Aug. 24.
Aerobic classes at Trinity
Ongoing aerobic classes are held at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8 to 9:30 a.m. For information call Beth Levick at 6356149.
