Yoga with Lilo
Do you want to be more flexible and feel better physically as well as mentally? Music at the Pub
Local singer/songwriter Carsie Bean Blue has returned temporarily from Eugene, Ore., to croon her eclectic jazz, blues and folk tunes for her friends and kin back home. She will play mostly her original tunage with a healthy dash of obscure-to-hardly-so cover bits, ranging from country to funky but always sweet, swank and soulful. This gathering also heralds the East Coast release of Carsie's homegrown ten-song album, hush. The event takes place on Sunday, Aug. 18, at nine p.m., at the Pub, beside Mountainside Market in Sperryville.
Quilting group forming
The Rappahannock Quilting group will start their new season on Sept. 10. The group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Rappahannock Library on US 211.
The season is September through May. This season will begin by making a Log Cabin bloick and quilting it. Whether you have quilted before or would like to learn to quilt, all are welcome to join. For more information contact Charlotte Laing at 937-3511.
CPR class offered

Celebration atECOW
Come celebrate the harvest of the ‘Tomato” at the Epicurious Cow on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 2 to 6 p.m. Over 20 varieties of tomatoes, eight assorted goat cheeses and wines paired to perfection sampled by Klaus Witteaur from Select Imports will be featured. For more information call 675-2269.
Dances planned at Town Hall
There will be dances of Universal Peace, or Sufi Dancing, at the Washington Town Hall on Friday, Aug. 16 from 7-9 p.m. These dances are led by Mariah Dean and feature the live music of Smiggy Smith and others. Tribal belly dancing offered
Tribal belly dancing with Charmaine Lee will be held at the Washington Town Hall each Wednesday now through Aug. 21. Cost is $15 for an hour and a half class from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Rehearsal afterwards for a half an hour for those interested. Participants should bring a mat. Call 987-8219 for information.
