And the Solomon family has continued to expand in many ways into the county.
They bought the Kilpatrick house in Sperrvville, and again with Jay Monroe’s assistance, completely transformed and “lifted" the house.
Riley has new friends in Petey, a Jack Russell terrier, and two German shepherds. Most importantly Micah and Vandy Solomon have welcomed into their world their first child, a daughter now 19 months old.
Oasis CD and the Solomons are involved with many of the civic and charitable events and organizations here in the county.
A few are the Rough Ride to benefit the Free Clinic, Paul Reisler’s Song Camps, the CCLC where Vandy serves as a member of its Board, and the Conservation Research Center in Front Royal.
With the business growing at 14 percent a year, they outgrew the limited space at their headquarters in Flint Hill.
They rented space in a nearby building from Bruce Vierling and ran telephone cables from building to building, surely not the final solution.
From the moment Mr. Solomon first saw the Faith Mountain building near the Rappahannock Coop on US 211, he fell in love with it and wanted it.
Oasis CD moved into its dream home on June 10 of this year and got the phones and all things technical working by June H, thanks to the technical wizardry of Martin Henze.
According to Mr. Solomon and the staff this is a “fantastic space.”
Unlike the Bradford house which was refitted to work as a business, this 13,500 square feet of sunlit space was designed and laid out to be a business.
They had no idea what a difference that could possibly have made until they began working in it.
Mr. Solomon says that everything feels right.
The new building is right, the company is doing good work and getting recognition, it’s growing and providing good jobs for those in the county, he loves his staff, and he loves working with some of the local artists who are his clients like Paul Reisler, Ben “Cooter” Jones, Vicki Pratt Keating, and Tom and Lorraine Espinola who have just jointly produced a children’s “album.”
And he and his family love the county.
