Board reports
Frank Warner of the Budget and Finance Committee provided Board members with two versions of a financial report available from the schools’ new accounting system, and recommended selection of one for regular use. Wesley Mills, reporting for the Facilities Committee, said that no money had been budgeted this year to continue w'ork on Rickmond Engineering's athletic and recreational facilities master plan. He said that he and Interim Superintendent Helen Williams were discussing the possibility of taking the plan to the Board of Supervisors to promote the County's assumption of responsibility for its implementation, since the facilities envisioned would be for community use, and not restricted to students. He suggested that the athletic and recreational facilities proposed could form the basis of a County Parks and Recreation Department.
