Here we are, summer vacation is almost over. School starts Aug. 26. I wish it wouldn’t start until after Labor Day. Most counties aren't starting until then and it wouldn’t be so hot on the kids. Just a thought, so be careful on the roads the buses will be loading and unloading the children.
Early last week there was a car accident on US 211. The Fire department had someone trying to slowr down traffic on the highway, but a lot of people disregarded the flares and the young man in the middle of the highway trying to slow them dowm. We as residents of Rappahannock County should know to yield to rescue. equipment and personnel. Please be careful on the roads, there are too many fatalities from people not paying attention.
Gary and I took the boys to Virginia Beach this week. We stayed at the Colonial Inn with a jacuzzi in our room. They had a great time and they loved the Water Park. It was a great way to beat the heat and humidity that has returned. Another reason to start school after Labor Day.
Next weekend 13 women from Amissville Baptist Church will be heading to Washington DC. to the Women of Faith Concert. They will be giving their testimony and singing on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m.
