Gloria have wonderful memories of the music the seven Switzers made and they have many of those memories on tape. All inherited their father’s love and ear for music. (John, who is in college, is especially gifted).

During the 80’s and 90’s when the children ranged from seven to fourteen years old. the Switzer family travelled all over Virginia and surrounding states performing in churches and missions, and for television and radio. The children seemed able to harmonize almost from birth, and during those travelling years, the children singing hymns in four-part harmony — a capella, no less — were as popular as their father playing the saw.

One of his fondest memories is his return with his family to the Philadelphia Christ Baptist Church in northwest Philadelphia. This wras the largest church the Switzer family had ever performed in. They were invited for the church’s homecoming.

It was also a homecoming for Junior Switzer. This
