A funeral service was held on Friday, Aug 9 at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. William Blackburn officiating.
Interment followed at the Sperryville Cemetery.
Lester Wayland
County resident
Lester Ashby Wayland, 89, of Culpeper passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
He was born Aug. 28, 1912 in Rappahannock County to the late Luther Wayland and Dolly Russell Wayland.
Mr. Wayland was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He later served in the South Pacific. When he returned from service he was employed with the Warrenton Hunt Club, from which he retired.
Survivors include his sisters, Dorothy Williams of Culpeper and Annie Poe of Cary, N.C., and a dear friend, Mary Wayland.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his twin brother, Chester Wayland and a sister, Elsie Eaheart.
Graveside services were held Saturday at Woodville Cemetery with Rev. John K. Burke officiating.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
