The way to Rappahannock came in 1959 when Rev. Switzer became pastor of Hope Hill Baptist Church near Castleton. Rev. Switzer is still preaching from that pulpit.
The gift for music has followed Junior Switzer always. He is adept on the piano, guitar. bass, trumpet, sax, and, of course, the saw. A truly religious man. he gives his Lord credit for this gift of music and all the many good things that have come into his life. It was during his “not quite right" years when he was part of a rock n’ roll hand that another of the good things came into his life: he met his future bride. It was love at first sight for Junior, and he said to a friend. ‘'I'm going to marry that girl one day." Gloria Dodson and Junior Switzer courted for two years, but always accompanied by her brother.
