The Rappahannock County Building Office reports that for the period running June 21 through Aug. 21 the following permits were issued.

For the month, the office issued five new home permits, seven addition/remodel/renovation permits and four storage building/garage permits, two commercial remodels. Miscellaneous permits included four permits to install an in ground pool, two deck permits, one demolition permit and nine renewal permits. • The Building Office also reviewed fifteen sets of plans; had 178 scheduled inspections; nine walk-in consultations and nine scheduled consultations.

The year to date totals are: 35 new home constructions and two commercial buildings, compared to 37 new home constructions for 2001 and two commercial buildings.
