The unique bell system, manufactured by Maas-Rowe Carillons Inc. is electronically amplified. It plays automatically by means of specially recorded tapes or live on an instrument using Maas-Rowe “tone bars.”
Rappahannock fourth graders were featured in a photo showing off the candle centerpieces that they made on Monday in Mrs. Ruth Baumgardner’s class. The centerpieces were an in-school 4-H project directed by Mrs. Rena Mae Jenkins and Mrs. Anna Bragg.
Rappahannock members of the Finance Committee for the construction of a 4-H Center in Warren County met last week to formulate plans for raising funds to help with the center. At the meeting were Nancy Secrist, Home Agent; Rapley Owings, Extension Agent; H.S. Barksdale, Unit Chairperson; Dr. Walter B. Kilby, who was named to head the Rappahannock group; David Konick and C.E. Johnson Jr.
Rappahannock County has been awarded a federal grant for $10,400 to purchase an ambulance with a radio for emergency medical services. The Sperryville Rescue Squad will receive the ambulance.
