The Salem Volunteer Fire and Rescue will sponsor another of their “Singing and Pickin” parties this Friday, Dec. 13.
As always, various groups will be performing. The activities begin at 6 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m.
Pastor Jeff Light and members of Novum Baptist will be participating from 9:30-10 p.m.
The fire and rescue department will be providing the food and drinks at a reasonable cost.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Susan A. Jenkins, who passed away on Dec. 4. She was a native of Rappahannock County, the daughter of Will and Georgianna Settle.
Several of our local youth received awards at the Salem Ruritan Club reception held in November. Gold and Silver Awards of the President’s Student Award Service were earned by providing volunteer services to their communities.
Our youth receiving Gold Awards were Ashley, Dylan, and Nathan Corbin. Congratulations, and keep up the good work.
Belated birthday wishes to out to Mrs. Theresa Light of Woodville, who celebrated her day on Dec. 6.
