Plants can be a bit harder to sort out without their blooms or varying foliage colors, but they do have other w avs of indicating their species. Seeds, blooms that have remained but dried to less vivid colors, and the shape of their branches and what leaves remain can all help in identification.
Snow is a great boon to nature sleuths as well as adding extra beauty to landscapes on a large and small scale. A plant that might look dull and one of many in a field of “weeds” suddenly reveals its owm unique beauty in its shape and foliage pattern against the snow.
