Donna LaPre, local horticulturist, herbalist, and writer for the Rappahannock News, inspired members of the Rappahannock County Garden Club to think in ecologically sound ways while working in their gardens.
Ms. LaPre’s approach to gardening operates in a totally integrated environment; the insects, plants, soils, all interact with each other.
If all is in balance, each plant sited in its appropriate environment, beneficial insects allowed to follow their natural instincts, soils enriched for use of available sun and water, then the garden flourishes, and its parts are in harmony with each other.
