Special to the Rappahannock News Dinah, 50, is sitting in a Culpeper women’s shelter describing how her husband once ran into her with a truck. She left him after 20 years of violence. She said he was physically, emotionally and sexually abusive.

• On Monday, Aug. 4, the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors will meet at 2 p.m. for a general business meeting and at 7 p.m. for a public hearing at the courthouse on Gay Street. • On Thursday, Aug. 7, the Rappahannock County Water and Sewer Authority will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the courthouse on Gay Street.
