STRICKEN BY GRIEF
Each person must work through grief in his or her own way, and it is work. Despite the existence of the well-known “stages of grief,” each survivor deals with loss as an individual And the ways in which people handle their losses vary widely. When you are struggling to deal with your own loss, it is useless to worry about following someone else’s timetable. The range of reactions to death is broad. Some are devastated when it occurs while others feel very little emotion. Grieving individuals may feel guilt, remorse, sadness, or resentment toward others - even God. Most people who lose someone close to them take months to get over die most severe part of their emotional stress.
Grief is the name of a process which includes all kinds of feelings from resentment to impatience, from deep sadness to a numbness which won’t go away.
