Although almost one in four older adults in the county lives alone, this is not an uncommon phenomenon in the region. Culpeper (23.7 percent), Fauquier (21.4 percent), Madison (23.9 percent), Page (28.3 percent) and Warren (27.4 percent) counties all have similar percentages of their older residents who live alone.
In addition to the 219 households in which older persons live alone, there are 2,569 other households here.
