The Loudoun County Animal Shelter located in Waterford, Virginia seeks a highly motivated and skilled Animal Control Officer to lead field work teams. Must have demonstrated ability to solve problems involving companion animals, exotics, wildlife and livestock, especially horses and cattle. Competency in verbal and written communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office are required. Preferred qualifications include euthanasia and chemical immobilization certification, familiarity with the criminal justice system, completion of basic ACO training meeting Virginia standards, and CPR certification. Successful candidate will have opportunity for advanced training from AHA, Code 3 and similar organizations and will receive formal supervisory/ management training. An Associates degree in Applied Science, Animal Health Technology or the equivalent and a minimum of 5 years experience involving the care and control of animals is required.
