field once, I saw no more evidence of him for some time. Well, this past Saturday night I was coming back from a walk and as I passed my landlord’s house, I heard a crashing noise from an apple tree next to the house.
I first thought a branch broke. I went to investigate. Well, there he was, the bear. He took off running and stopped about 100 feet from the tree. It was a June apple tree and the apples were ready. Well, he stopped and turned and looked at me standing on his back legs.
He must have been five feet tall. I have never confronted a bear and had no intention of doing so now. I went to my house got into my truck and went back.
The bear was heading back to the tree at this time but seeing me he retreated and took off across the field. I chased him in my truck, but he disappeared into the woods at the edge of the field.
