No one showed up to oppose the 39 percent increase in sewer rates for the Sperryille treatment plant.
The three members of the Water and Sewer Authority present quickly closed the public hearing on the rate increase last Thursday and voted to adopt the new rate of $21.50 per month for each Equivalent Dwelling Unit arid the budget for the coming year.
School days are over for Mrs. Jane Batchelder, Amissville, who is retiring after a teaching career that has spanned almost 30 years, including the last 20 at Fauquier High School, Warrenton. Her most recent positron at Fauquier High was as a reading specialist.
