costumes
Basic black sweatsuit: Wrap ankles and wrists with long glowsticks ($1 at Dollar Tree) to make a modern ghost.
Animals: Stuffed socks for extra limbs; yam for tails and manes; pipe cleaners make everything from antennae to tails; eyeliner for whiskers. Tin foil is ideal for keeping the kiddies visible in the night.
White sweatsuit: Scuff up with a few charcoals, put a stick through the hair, to make a marshmallow.
Brown sweatsuit: Gather willow branches and securely tape around forearms so that soft ends are just beyond length of fingers, and around calves to reach to shoes. Paint tears on face with cosmetics: “I’m a weeping willow.”
Wacky ideas
Safety pin (or baste) a handful of tea bags to a shirt, and paint “DNA” on the pants: “I'm a T-shirt and genes!”
Gather mismatched sheets, tear into strips, wrap around limbs and torso and onto a hat: “I’m a mummy!”
