First, 95 percent of all students as well as 95 percent of students in each subgroup must participate in testing.
Requirements also inc lude meeting annual minimum passing levels on tests in language arts and math. Test scores must exceed the goals set by the state for both the student body as a whole and for each subset which numbers above 50.
While still counted in overall data, groups which fall below this number are not counted as an independent group for either test scores or test participation.
Also, minimum requirements are set for elementary school attendance and high school matriculation.
