Freshman Linda Maharidge sat opposite her long-time friend, sophomore Nell Davis.
“We like it a lot,” giggled the two girls who admitted to signing to each other during volleyball practices.
Taking her right hand and running it gently up and down her left arm, Maharidge said, “Slow down. It’s one of the first signs we learn ”
“It's so easy to put together,” she added.
“She makes it so much fun,” said Davis of Cassese.
The two girls had been biking recently in the countryside of West Virginia. “We stopped and were able to sign with a man who was deaf,” said Davis. ‘That felt good.”
Both girls plan to continue not only their friendship but perhaps a business partnership in the future.
“We’d like to run a farm,” grinned Maharidge. “You know, offer therapeutic riding.”
“And signing as well,” added Davis.
