Fall picnic and BBQ
Join friends and neighbors at the First Annual Rappahannock Fall Picnic and BBQ to take place on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Sundance Farm on Fodderstack Road. This wonderful family event will offer delicious food and drinks for all, along with a fun-filled hay ride and crafty pumpkin decorating for the children. Special guest Thomas A. Lewis, Democratic Candidate for Virginia General Assembly 15th District House of Delegates will be present to meet county residents. Admission is free.
Town Hall Meeting
On Monday Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m' Mark Obenshain, candidate for the 26th State Senate District, will hold a Town Hall meeting at the Rappahannock County Library to meet with citizens and talk about the issues that face Virginia. Everyone is invited. For more information call (540) 437-3126.
Reception for artists
The public is invited to a reception on Monday, Oct. 27 from 3 to 6 p.m at the Department of Interior’s museum, 18th and C Streets NW to honor the employees who collaborated with former Rappahannock County artist Laurie Marshall to produce a 40-foot by 8-foot mural. This project was part of the Interior's series “Art, Collaboration and Conservation.” Marshall used the Native American Medicine Wheel as inspiration for the image generation. A photo ID is needed to obtain admission, which is free.
Ki Theatre’s play on Nov. 1
The 7th annual storytelling show will be held at Ki Theatre on Saturday, Nov. I at 8 p.m. Seven storytellers weave warm, funny and poignant tales about their lives and the lives of others in an evening sure to delight. Tickets are $10. Conservation meeting
The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its monthly Board of Directors' meeting on Nov. 4 at the Rappahannock Extension Office at 9:30 a.m. Meetings rotate alphabetically on a county basis by the five counties served by the District: Culpeper, Greene, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock.
