She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Brown Taylor and her husband Bernard, of Rixeyville.
Additional survivors include five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hunter Brown, two brothers, Mitchell Lee Hitt and Aldridge Junior Hitt, and a sister, Lizzie H. Norman.
A funeral service was held Oct. 6 at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Tim Atkins officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
