Health officials are as frustrated as the people they serve. Virginia Department of Health spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said that the best place to find flu shot locations is at the web site www.findaflushot.com. “Type in your zip code and it will give you a fist of places that are offering flu shots.” But she also said the lists will only include dates up until Oct. 16. “After Oct. 16, there are no locations scheduled.”
The health department, as well as doctors' offices and retail outlets that have offered shots in previous years are in a waiting mode. Caldwell said that the priority is to get vaccines to those who need it most
