Welch

From Page B1

Welch is one of Virginia’s best-known painters of contemporary rural life in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Using images of farm animals, livestock, wildlife, pets, and mountain landscapes she fills her paintings with the gentle beauty and quiet majesty of country living. Welch paints in a detailed and realistic style, using the subjects and composition of her paintings to communicate unique impressions of natural beauty.

Her work ranges from panoramic mountain landscapes to delightful details of her pets and favorite farm animals. Welch is a native of Allegheny County, Va. and a long time resident of Rappahannock County.

Beginning with her early work in graphic design, she has received numerous honors and awards for design and advertising throughout the country. These include designs for the EJT Performing Arts
