Haunted house
On Saturday. Oct. 30. the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company's annual Open House will be from 2-5 p.m. at the corner of Route 522 and Fodderstack Road At 7 p.m., join your neighbors for a delicious lunch, live fire and rescue demonstrations, a hands-on encounter with the community's award-winning fire engine and ambulance and free blood pressure checks. Young and old will also have a chance to indulge their fear factor at the annual Haunted Firehouse. The haunted house is also open on Friday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
Life Stories Workshop
Taking place in Washington on Nov. 5-7 is the first of the 2004/2005 workshops. This three-day introductory course is for people of all backgrounds, ages and writing experience. Mosby din ner banquet
The Col. John S Mosby Camp #1237 will hold its annual dinner banquet on Saturday. Nov. 13 at Dean's Steakhouse, 708 S. Royal Ave. in Front Royal. Social hour begins at 6 p.m.; dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $25 per person for SCV or UDC members and spouses and $30 for non-members. James Burgess will speak on The Battle of First Manassas.
