“Until you have hit a deer with your car.-’ said Sherertz, “it is hard to describe how scary it is and how helpless you feel.”
Horses can also startle motorists, although law enforcement reports do not indicate the problem being too common. Usually a fence has come down, and the horse wanders off in search of something different.
Cattle on the other hand, tend to be more docile. They tend to stay by the side of the road, and rarely run across it or jump out at a passing vehicle.
