Two new businesses opened together in the old Packing Shed in Washington this past June. Blue Ridge Boatworks, a venture in wc'xlen boatbuilding by Rappahannock resident Andew Smith, and J.P.C. Designs, a custom furniture making outfit piloted by Justin Corrdry of Delaplane.
Lifelong friends, proprietors Smith and Corddry both in their early thirties, grew up around Linden and have known each other literally as long as either can remember. Corddry even went to preschool with Smith’s brother. Their two independent concerns share a workspace, a phone number, and a focus on traditional woodworking. They both followed similar paths leading them both separately to traditional, fine woodworking.
