Heavenly hollyhocks
Sunset Hills Farm was ablaze with color over the weekend with their hosts of hollyhocks in full bloom.Located on Christmas Tree Lane, off US 211 near the high school, visitors to Sunset Hills Farm are offered not only a breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but also of welltended gardens of flowers and fruit orchards that are among the finest in the area. The hollyhocks and gladiolas are just now at their peak. Peaches are ripening and will be available in about another week; Amish “Brandywine” tomatoes, in about 14 days; and apples in late September. The farm’s popular mums will be available in the fall. All are sold at the on-the-premises farm store. Call Betty or Leon Hutcheson at (540) 987-8804.
