I went hiking several weeks ago. Actually, while billed as a rough hike, it was beyond hiking and into the realm of bush whacking.
After walking peaceably along the trail for about 100 yards or so, my intrepid guide suggested that we veer off to an animal trail used by deer and bear.
That being done, we soon veered off that and it became “machete” land with no machetes.
Fortunately, I’m not one prone to poison oak and ivy as it was everywhere. Nettles, .however, posed another challenge.
Loose rocks, dead branches, dried mounds of leaves that fortunately shielded no snakes, lots of spring-back limbs and occasional glimpses of the sun was the modus operati.
