Judge Herman A. Whisenant, Jr. authorized up to $1,500 of court funds be released for the defendant Ira Wayne Cloniger to obtain a blood splatter expert. The twentieth judicial circuit court heard four motions on Tuesday that filed by Cloniger last Monday. Cloniger is charged with first degree murder in the death of Edward Carleton Fletcher Jr, on July 2nd, 2006.

“The Commonwealth increasingly relies on forensic evidence in prosecuting its court cases,” said Bonnie Hoffman, the defense attorney for Cloniger. “The same should be allowed for my client.” Williams
