Roger Jenkins
Faces of 211- another in a series spotlighting people on route 211: This week’s focus in on Roger Jenkins and his fruit stand at Waterpenny Farm Lane.
“My father had this spot in the 60’s and I am carrying on the tradition.” Marking his 25th year in that family spot at the intersection of 211 and Waterpenny Lane, Roger Jenkins loves selling apples, honey, cider and jam and he enjoys meeting people. Many of us know and respect him as Lt. Jenkins of the Sheriff’s Office. Running the stand is different from the police work. It is fun and provides a welcome contrast. Roger grew up on Water Street in Sperryville and continues to live in the village with his wife Pam and two-year-old daughter Brooklynn. Like so many others in Sperryville, Roger works two jobs, both of them demanding and both making a real contribution to our village life. Thank you Roger!
