The Shenandoah Travelers will be performing at the 4H Chili Cook-Off Bluegrass Festival on Sunday, November 5th. Entertainment begins at 2 p.m. Please come out and n ei\joy a bowl of chili and some great bluegrass music and also support local 4-H. There will also be a silent auction with some wonderful items.

War Roundtable meeting
The Fauquier County Civil War Roundtable’s monthly dinner meeting will be held Wednesday, November 8 at the Inn at Kelly’s Ford. Everyone, members and non-members are invited and welcome.
Mr. Edward Bonekemper will speak on “A Victor, Not a Butcher: Ulysses S Grant’s Overlooked Military Genius.”
Mr. Bonekemper is retired and lives in Willow Street, PA. He graduated from Yale Law School in 1967 and was a U.S. Government attorney for over 34 years. He is also a retired Commander in U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. He received a BA cum laude in American History from Muhlenberg College in 1964; and an MA in History from Old Dominion University in 1971. He has published several books and written articles on the Civil War for the last 31 years. His newest book “McClellan and Failure: A Civil War Study of Fear, Incompetence and Worse” will be published by McFarland & Co in early 2007. He is currently an adjunct lecturer in U.S. History at Muhlenberg College and at the American Military University.
The evening starts with a social time at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. followed by the program. Anyone can come just for Hie program if they wish. For reservations and directions call President Jim Flanagan at 540-439-3549 by Monday, November 6.
