Alternative Energy Expo last May? A special display will capture the event photographically. Jill and Jed Duvall, who head RLEFs Alternative Energy Project, were busy throughout the year organizing the Expo. Using their exhaustive resources and contacts in this field, the Duvalls were able to bring together 40 diverse exhibitors for a day of education and commerce at the Fauquier Fairgrounds. The event was considered a huge success by the vendors—and the 650 people who attended. For a list of the exhibitors and their contact information, visit www.RLEP.org.
We will also be celebrating the success of our public-service programs held in October, including the well-received Piedmont Supervisor Candidate Forum with an attendance of over 130, and the screening of A1 Gore’s film on global warming, “An Inconvenient Truth,” to an enthusiastic audience of over 100.
The rather raucous success of the mini-auction last year convinced Kaye and Rick Kohler to again solicit donations from the community to be auctioned off with proceeds to benefit RLEP We have a wonderfully diverse community of people who give generously for this event, so don’t miss it! You might take home a homemade raspberry cheesecake, a local work of art, or lunch for two at a county restaurant.
