No matter on how many other major issues we may agree with a candidate, we should not vote for one who is a racist.
George Allen protests that when he used the word “macaca” to describe his opponent’s Indian-born supporter he was just using a series of syllables that fell, made up, from his bps. What a coincidence that it happened to be a real word that, in fact, insults people of color.
This is a real word; it is a racial slur in a language Allen grew up speaking.
