Position wilt oversee and perform general supervision of park patrons and renters according to the department policies and procedures. Supervise staff and manage park operations in the absence of the Park Manager. Assist with the development and implementation of an aquatics area maintenance plan for the pool. Perform daily site safety checks, pool inspections, maintenance and minor repairs within Health Department guidelines established by the department and the Virginia Department of Health. Create, review, evaluate and update pool emergency procedures and staff manual periodically. Recruit, hire, train, certify, and retain qualified temporary pool staff to include p. ,-time assistant managers, lifeguards, and water safety instructors. Maintain Pool Operators Certification, CPR, and First Aid training. Assist with programming, scheduling, group visits, aquatics instruction and special events Promote programs and activities through flyers, press releases and other marketing methods. Handle customer service concerns in accordance with departmental guidelines. Assist with the development and enforcement of park rules and regulations. Must be willing to work flexible schedule. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelors degree In recreation, leisure services, or related field with 2 years directly related work exper lence. Prior supervisory experience is required. Certified Leisure Professional desired. Successful candidate must have Pool Operators Certification or must obtain within 45 days of hire. First Aid, CPR and WSI Instructor certifications required within 6 months of hire. Valid Drivers License and DMV Check required. (Hiring Range: $36,404 - $49,145/yr) Closes: 11/03/2006 07-145.
