Aubrey Roger Curtis, age 70, of Culpeper and Sumerduck, VA, passed away Friday, October 20, at Fairfax INOVA Hospital.
He was bom May 23, 1936 in New York City, NY to Mr. Aubrey Scott Curtis and Mildred Mitchell Curtis.
Mr. Curtis owned and operated Sumerduck Dragway for 40 years.
He was a member of Mt. Holly Baptist Church in Sumerduck, VA, a member of the N.H.RA & I.H.RA., and formerly owned Culpeper Chrysler Plymouth. He enjoyed flying airplanes, drag racing and farming Pine View in Sumerduck, VA
Mr. Curtis is survived by his wife of 49 years Mary Frances Curtis of Culpeper, VA, his son and his family of Sumerduck, VA; Scott and Margie Curtis and children Aubri, Lilli and Kyle, a daughter and her family of Fredericksburg, VA; Joy and Mike Anderson and children Taylor, Jenna and Kevin, a daughter and her family of Sperryville, VA; Pamela and John Kiser and children Pierce, David and Anne.
Additional survivors include three brothers; Walter Curtis of New Jersey, William Curtis of Sumerduck, VA, and Ray Curtis of Richmond, VA, a sister; Edna Mae Garrigan of Manassas, Va., numerous nieces and nephews, all of which he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
