Although the defense requested $5,000 to obtain an expert, Whisenant restricted it to $1,500. “You will be allowed to hire an expert to look at the photographs of the crime scene to see whether or not it will serve as evidence in the trial,” he said.
The trial of Ira Wayne Cloniger is scheduled for January 22, 2007.
