Unlike at most other gyms, you probably won’t have to wait tor a treadmill at the Rappahannock fitness center this month.

New Year’s resolutions bnng out waves of the would-be trim to tone up. but the fitness center at Rappahannock County High School has largely dodged the droves.

“I have not met anyone in particular saying my New Year’s resolution is to lose weight." said Essie Green.

Green is in her first year teaching at Rappahannock County Elementary School. She works at the fitness center every Mondays after school.

She says the holidays have brought out college students home for break.

“Tve seen an increase, especially in college students hanging out, working out, until they have to go back to school." she said.

Green says the fitness center, which is open to the public, is busiest between 4 and 6 p.m.

Wanda Snead, who Lives in (lid Brown Hollow, has a gym membership in Front Royal, where she works. She said she will go there sometimes after getting out of the office.

Tve been working out for years," she said.

Snead said the Rappahannock fitness center can provide an easy alternative.
