The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community presents a good ‘ol fashioned western this Friday.
Those of us of certain ages grew up during the heydays of the “Oater”. Westerns were not only the stock in trade of the big screen but they quickly took over television. Every big name in Hollywood had a few westerns on his or her resume. Just as the genre fell out of favor, Clint Eastwood came roaring back in the “Spaghetti Westerns” of the 70s and 80s. But then it just stopped.
Twenty five years later and we finally get a chance to sit back and enjoy what good westerns used to deliver. Mix together fast action, the awesome vistas, the haunting music, the romance of the old West, gunslingers, train robbers, beautiful, saloon girls .rugged men riding horses really, really fast, and a suspenseful storyline and you get “3:10 to Yuma.”
