Fonda (he was on the screen 10 minutes before I recognized him) and Ben Foster both give wonderful performances. In fact the entire cast* has been nominated by SAG for the Most Outstanding Performance by a Cast in 2007.
This isn’t just another action film. It stirs emotions on many levels as we watch the fight between good and evil. I don’t think I am giving anything away by telling you Russell Crowe plays the BAD, BAD really BAD killer and gang leader Ben Wade. He seduces women with his velvet voice and has a fanatical following of his ruthless, murdering gang. The entire film was done on location and no sound stages were used. In today's world when it feels as if 99 percent of movies are digitized and played out in front of green screens. This is refreshing. You can tell the difference. The mountains are real, the train is real, the horses are real. How refreshing!
