“I think our town is in a slump and it would be important that we findg»ome way to enliven it and allow people to use their properties," she said.
Mitchell said that the sewer system would allow restaurants to move in that might otherwise be concerned about overtaxed septic systems. It would also increase property values and free up owners to work on buildings limited by drain field capacity, she said.
“We re sort of frozen in time nght now, and people want to buy a property or sell a property and there’s nothing you can do with it." she said.
Mitchell said it would also keep failing drain fields from polluting the watershed
“1 look at it as only a positive thing; 1 don’t see any negative to it at all," she said
