But the hook-up service only covers installation of a small pump house tapped into the town’s system. The pump house then will need to be connected to the owner’s building for an additional cost.
The hook-up fees are also assessed based on estimated usage. So someone who uses less than 6,000 gallons might pay $7,500, while someone who uses between 6,000 and 12,000 gallons could have to pay twice that.
The town council is looking into ways to require residents and businesses to use the system, but for now is going with a carrotand-stick approach — those who sign up early pay less, those who sign up later pay more.
