Benefit Breakfast
This Saturday, Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue will host a benefit breakfast at the Washington Fire Hall from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00. The price is $7 for adults and $4 tor children 10 and under. Several local businesses have contributed to the event, and it is hoped family, friends and neighbors will come out to enjoy a full breakfast while supporting their community.

Last November, Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue sponsored a concert to start raising funds for a new tanker fire truck. “Pops” Walker of Luray delighted the audience with his acoustic guitar blues and original songs. Brooke Parkhurst of Rappahannock played banjo, penny whistle and sang, accompanied by Avril Smith on guitar and mandolin. They performed a series of traditional Appalachian tunes which had the audience hoping for more. Now, a CD recorded live at the concert is ready for sale at the benefit breakfast. All proceeds from the CD sales wdl go toward funding the new tanker fire truck for Washington.
Cost for the CD is $15.
