In one of Frazier’s small gems, Time to Migrate,” he explained, “as I put paint to canvas and worked it around, I began to see something and then 1 went in that direction ”
What he saw was the essence of a horse and rider; he added a serape, some dark hair, another figure behind the horse and then completed the painting. When you study this very colorful abstract image you can begin to see what Frazier saw in it as he “developed” the painting.
The current show has several abstract-inspired landscapes, including “Road to the Gap" which illustrates a keen sense of place with complex skies, distant mountains, and full summer trees.
