Sports Specialist

Position available with the fast paced Sports Division. Duties include: plan & implement year round countywide sports camps, clinics and instructional programs for youth. Coordinate recruitment, hiring, and training of seasonal staff for camps and clinics to ensure programs properly supervised, adhering to county polices/procedures. Ensure timesheets and employee documentation are processed by deadlines. Well organized for oversight of multiple camps, clinics. Create/distribute promotional materials to publicize programs and ensure maximum enrollment. Provide employee & volunteer training and provide ffont-line customer service to public. Ability to function as member of a team. Able to communicate well verbally and in writing. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and school staff. Provide contract management to oversee contracted camps and clinics. Assist with operations of local, national sport toumaments/events. May require occasional evening and weekend work. Position required to be available as a contact for sports leagues and facility supervisors on a subject to call rotating basis. Bachelor's degree in recreation or related field and 2 yrs directly related work experience. Prefer experience with automated scheduling system. Prefer Certified Parks & Recreation Professional.
